Reflection for the year
As we approach the end of 2023, I am pleased to reflect on the remarkable journey of the Micro Business Forum. I was re-elected as President at the Annual General Meeting on August 16th, 2023 with the intent to infuse MBF with renewed energy and vision. 2023 is a special year as we celebrate our 20th year milestone.
MBF's December 2023 coffee connect. Thank you for being there to celebrate with us!
32% increase in membership
One of the most significant achievements this year has been the impressive 32% increase in memberships, demonstrating a growing interest and recognition of the value that MBF provides to microbusinesses in our region. We have successfully attracted a diverse range of seasoned and young entrepreneurs, fostering a vibrant community where experience meets innovation.
In a groundbreaking move, MBF opened its doors to students for the first time since November 2023. This inclusive approach reflects our commitment to supporting all microbusinesses in the region, irrespective of their stage in the entrepreneurial journey. By welcoming students, we aim to nurture the next generation of business leaders and provide them with a platform to learn, connect, and collaborate with experienced professionals.
MBF events are always fun, encourage collaboration and learning
Excellence Awards
Qi+Tonic won the Excellence in Microbusiness Awards again this year in 2023, while Brilliant-Online won the Excellence in Innovation award at the 2023 Wauchope & Hinterland Business Awards. It is through the support we are getting from other businesses and our communities that we are able to thrive. It is so important to be acknowledged by our communities for the incredible work micro and small business owners are doing.
MBF's Mission
At MBF, our core mission is to empower small businesses through facilitating connections, collaborations, and comprehensive skill development in finance, sales, marketing, and technology. By equipping our members with these essential skills, we enable them to thrive in today's dynamic business landscape. Additionally, we emphasise a holistic approach to business success, dedicating ourselves to ensuring the mental and physical well-being of our members. We believe that a healthy entrepreneur is a resilient entrepreneur, fostering an environment where businesses can flourish sustainably.
Looking ahead
Looking ahead, MBF is poised to be the nexus where small businesses grow together. Our commitment to fostering a supportive and collaborative community remains unwavering. As we step into 2024, we are excited about the opportunities to further enhance our offerings, expand our reach, and make a lasting impact on the small business landscape in our region.
Upcoming events
Coffee Connects will continue through 2024, hosted by Lyn Richardson. Our January 11th coffee connect will be at the Waterman's Cafe in Wauchope. Waterman's business was affected due to road works and closures. This is our way of supporting small business in the area.
We'll have an interactive session on Wednesday 21st February, working on our 2024 business ideas and plans. Let's unleash our creativity and passion to pursue our dreams with courage and confidence in the Year of the Wood Dragon. This is going to be a fun event, so register early to secure your seat.
